Greg Garrett

Greg Garrett is the author of the novels Free Bird, Cycling, and the forthcoming Sanctuary (2005). Publishers Weekly chose Free Bird as a First Fiction feature for Spring/Summer 2002, and the Denver Rocky Mountain News also chose it as one of the outstanding first works of fiction for 2002. A past winner of the William Faulkner Competition in Fiction, Greg has published forty short stories in four countries, as well as hundreds of essays, reviews, and other nonfiction works. Greg wrote the popular on-line course "The Genius of Alfred Hitchcock" for Barnes & Noble.com, co-wrote (with Chris Seay) The Gospel Reloaded: Exploring Spirituality and Faith in the Matrix, and is the author of the new book Holy Superheroes! Exploring Spirituality and Faith in Comic Books (2005). A frequent speaker, panelist, and media guest on writing, popular culture, narrative, and spirituality, Greg has appeared on National Public Radio and been interviewed by magazines and newspapers across the United States. Greg is Professor of English at Baylor University, where he has received many awards for his teaching, and attends the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas.
